Outage Updates, Saturday, Dec. 17

Afternoon update:

As of 1:30 p.m. Saturday, we still expect to have everyone who was out of power since Friday back on by 3 p.m. Saturday, with the following possible exceptions in western Frederick County:

  • Shockeysville: Crews continue to find additional damage, and are now up to 11 broken poles to repair. Restoration continues, but it may go past 3 p.m. Saturday. Restoration is expected on Saturday.
  • Laurel Grove Road: There are 12 spans of wire down that crews continue to work on, which may take restoration past 3 p.m. Saturday. Restoration is expected on Saturday.
  • Along the West Virginia border: We continue to work with Allegheny Power to get SVEC members back on, but this is expected to go past 3 p.m. Saturday as AP has significant damage of its own in Hampshire County, W.V. We will restore what we can throughout Saturday.

For continued real-time updates, check the Outage Center at www.svec.coop/outage or the MySVEC app.

Morning update:

As of 8 a.m. Saturday, all reported outages have crews responding in northwestern Shenandoah County and western Frederick County. The goal remains to restore service to everyone today.

For about 60 members in Frederick who live along the West Virginia border, we are working with our partner utility, Allegheny Power, to have service restored as quickly as possible.

Our crews appreciate your patience, thoughts and prayers as we enter what we hope is the final stretch.
