Starting with the 2022 election, the board of directors entered a transition period with the goal of having nine directors. Each board seat will serve a three-year term and three offices will be up for election each year, once the transition period is over. In the interim, that’s why some directors will serve four years instead of three.
A board seat will come from Augusta, Frederick, Page, Rockingham and Shenandoah counties, and the City of Winchester. Additionally, one each will come from the Northern, Central and Southern regions. The Northern region office will be filled by a member who resides in Clarke or Frederick counties, or the City of Winchester. The Central region office will be filled by a member who resides in Page, Shenandoah or Warren counties. The Southern region office will be filled by a member who resides in Augusta, Greene, Highland or Rockingham counties, the City of Staunton, or any county bordering Augusta County (other than any county already mentioned).
