Third Cycle (October 2025)
Augusta/Highland
- Elegius Mini Equine Sanctuary: To create an owner support fund that would assist owners with short-term care needs of their equines who are on the group’s waitlist and otherwise might be sent off to auction and slaughter.
- Valley Career and Technical Center Agriculture Department: To purchase a wool shredder and a wool pellet machine, which will demonstrate to students how to add value to a useless product (wool) and help farmers improve their environmental stewardship.

- Blue Ridge Youth Theater: Toward its Christmas production, to include expenses related to royalties, costumes and advertising.
- Hawksbill Greenway & Recreational Foundation: To support the greenway’s extension and historic park final design for construction blueprints and permit costs.
- Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department: To update the department’s four gas meters. New gas meters will ensure firefighter safety and detect lethal and explosive level of gases.
Rockingham
- Open Doors: To help sustain daily operations, staffing and essential services that support guests on their path toward stability at its year-round, low-barrier emergency shelter.
Shenandoah
- Shenandoah County SEARCH: To pave the backyard walking path, two uneven ground areas, and the gravel van parking area, which will improve safety, accessibility and mobility for residents.
- Shen-Paco Industries: To provide a variety of art supplies and other creative materials for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as fund field trips and participation in other community events.
Winchester/Frederick
- Access Independence: To purchase durable medical equipment and assistive devices and build ramps for its consumers.
- Adult Care Center of the Northern Shenandoah Valley: To cover an emergency need for relocation funds for its space to offer a day program for adults who are coping with physical or cognitive challenges caused by Alzheimer’s disease.
- FREE Foundation for Rehabilitation Equipment & Endowment: To meet the high demand for bathroom safety items, particularly tub benches, that far exceeds available supply. The bathroom remains the leading location for falls, yet essential safety bathroom equipment is not covered by insurance.
- Highland Food Pantry: For its Eggcellent Protein program, which purchases eggs to provide clients with a high protein source.
- Shenandoah Valley Latino Scholars Initiative: To support its scholars in Winchester in 2026 through various continued growth activities such as new academic challenges and leadership responsibilities, evaluating careers and majors, applying for college admittance and seeking financial aid.
Second Cycle (June 2025)
Augusta
- Waynesboro Area Refuge Ministry: to support staff positions at Ruth’s WARM House, its transitional shelter for homeless women and children.
- Dare to Dream Therapeutic Horsemanship Center: to fund the acquisition of another horse for its program, which supports those impacted by various physical and mental challenges.

- Daughter of the Stars Cultural Center: to fund a distinctive summer camp where middle school students design and build cigar box guitars — instruments with deep roots in American folk traditions — and learn to play traditional mountain music on their individually crafted instruments.
- Living Legacy: to provide nutritious meals five days a week for youth attending The Rec after school and during summer programs, while also teaching them age-appropriate meal preparation.
- Page One: for financial assistance and food pantry programs.
- Stanley Volunteer Fire Department: to purchase three pagers, the primary notification method for emergency incidents with the county’s Emergency Communications Center.
Rockingham
- Silk Moth Stage: for theater workshops in schools and libraries, connected to the themes of its fall performance.
- Stone Haven: to purchase materials for its new residential treatment program supporting women in their journey of healing from sexual exploitation.
- Way to Go: to enhance and expand its transportation services for low-income working families and individuals in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County.
Shenandoah
- Community Resources for Education and Wellness: to further enhance the former Triplett School in Mount Jackson with additional programming, art supplies and a makerspace room.
- Ferst Readers: to purchase and mail books and literacy materials to children.
Winchester/Frederick/Clarke
- Faithworks: to fund a transportation assistance program to support households with car repair bills or other transportation-related expenses.
- Family Promise: to help parents pay for summer and/or after-school care for their children as part of its mission to serve those at risk of, or currently facing, homelessness.
- John H. Enders Fire Company & Rescue Squad: to purchase specialized water rescue tools to enhance response capabilities on the Shenandoah River and elsewhere.
First Cycle (February 2025)
Augusta County
- Friends of the Middle River: to purchase educational items for meaningful watershed experiences for elementary through high school students in Staunton and Augusta County.
- Rockingham-Augusta Search and Rescue: for the procurement of supplies and equipment to build emergency response kits to respond to searches and provide a partial stipend when new members join to begin building a response bag.
- Verona Community Center: to support critical services it provides to the community, including laundry, showers, healthy foods, internet, computers and a community meeting space open to all.
Frederick County/Winchester
- First Presbyterian Church: for its Helper Fund that provides emergency assistance to individuals in Winchester and Clarke and Frederick counties.
- Literacy Volunteers: to purchase family literacy program materials for students.
- Love to NIC: to provide a free monthly meal for those who are homeless in Winchester.
Page County
Community Works: for its Soup to Seniors program, with a goal of preparing 27 quarts of soup each month providing healthy, easy-to-reheat soup meals for 24 seniors in the community.
Rockingham County
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham: to support the enrollment and matching of additional youth throughout its service area.
- Elkton Area United Services: to assist clients with paying their electric bill during times that they need a hand up.
- People Helping People: to provide utility assistance to its clients.
- Singers Glen Volunteer Rescue Squad: to purchase items that will assist in recruitment and community outreach events for the all-volunteer unit.
Shenandoah County
- Emmanuel Episcopal Church: to make local food purchases and directly address the challenges of food insecurity and limited access to nutritious options for the surrounding communities.
- Shenandoah Valley Local Ministries: for A Small Hand, to purchase a month’s supply of diapers for 60 babies, and Luke’s Backpack, to purchase food for weekend food bags for 125 schoolchildren.
Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta: To perform critical home repairs for a client living at or beneath 150% of the federal poverty threshold.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Harrisonburg-Rockingham County – For support on matching volunteer “bigs” with young “littles” and to expand services to more than 100 children on the waiting list.
