Tom Beamon

Tom Beamon is vice president of administration and finance and the cooperative’s chief financial officer. Tom joined SVEC in late 2015. In his role as vice president, he oversees all of the cooperative’s finances.

Before joining SVEC, he worked with National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation (NRUCFC), where he was responsible for managing relationships with distribution cooperatives, and then generation and transmission electric cooperatives nationwide. This included designing custom financing solutions, providing insights and guidance on financial market trends, and helping cooperatives build their strategic direction.

Before his tenure with NRUCFC, Tom worked in commercial banking in the Washington, D.C., metro area. He has more than 13 years of finance experience.

Tom holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. He is a graduate of the Executive Energy Finance program at the University of Texas’ McCombs School of Business. As an undergraduate, Tom received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry, also from the University of North Carolina.

Tom lives in Winchester with his wife and two young daughters

SVEC’s senior staff is charged with overseeing the day-to-day success of the cooperative.
