Larry Howdyshell

Mike Aulgur is the vice president of member services. He joined the cooperative in September 2009. He is responsible for overseeing the administration of the member services department of the organization, and works to ensure quality member-owner service to all of the constituencies of the cooperative.

He represents the cooperative in relation to the cooperative’s marketing and communications programs, public affairs, collection processes, terms and conditions for providing electric service and member-owner billing activities. Mike, along with the member services team, act as a communications conduit between the cooperative and its member-owners, the media, general public and legislators.

Prior to joining SVEC, he worked with the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Guilford College; a Master of Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He has also received a Management Intern Program certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Mike lives in Rockingham County with his wife and two children.

SVEC is governed by a democratically elected board of directors. Directors serve four-year terms.

SVEC’s senior staff is charged with overseeing the day-to-day success of the cooperative.
