Director of Infrastructure Development
Scott Boyd was named SVEC’s director of infrastructure development in August 2022. As director, Scott manages assigned projects to ensure the cooperative’s strategic initiatives are met. One of the first major projects he is overseeing is the cooperative’s fiber optic cable installation to connect substations.
Born and raised in Frederick County, Va., Scott graduated from James Wood High School and worked briefly for an engineering firm as a surveyor before joining Potomac Edison in 1987. Since that time, he has been a lineworker (working up to a lead position), contract coordinator and construction manager, with expertise in distribution, subtransmission and transmission lines.
