
Vice President of Engineering
Jason Burch is Vice President of Engineering. He joined the cooperative in June 2005. Jason is responsible for administration of the Cooperative’s electric system planning, technical, and line engineering, and supporting technologies, as well as joint use partnerships, and support for large accounts and strategic energy programs. He is also charged with helping to manage the cooperative’s communication infrastructure.
Prior, Jason held the position of Manager of System Engineering for about 11 years where he oversaw the integrity of SVEC’s Electric System and supporting technologies such as GIS and SCADA. Before management, he held the position of Planning Engineer for about three years where he monitored and studied aspects of the electric system.
Jason has received his master’s in Business Administration from James Madison University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has also earned a Management Inter Program certificate from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
Jason was born in Rockingham County where the majority of his extended family still live. He currently resides in Harrisonburg and, besides his college years in Blacksburg, has lived in the Shenandoah Valley his entire life.
