Scholarship Application

Scholarships are awarded to local high school seniors whose parents or legal guardians are members of SVEC. Primary judging criteria are the quality of essay provided by the student, participation in school/community activities and the quality of applicant’s high school course load. Other judging criteria will include financial need, letters of reference, grade point average and SAT score.

Scholarship Application

  • The address must be the applicant's primary residence. The applicant must be living at the address at the time that the application is submitted.
  • List extracurricular school activities (sports, clubs, etc.) in which you have been involved; include any offices held.
  • List any involvement you have had in your local community.
  • Explain your needs for scholarship or financial aid.

    All applicants MUST provide a copy of their high school transcripts, GPA and SAT score from their guidance counselor with their application.
  • All applicants must complete an essay on the following: How will a college education and this scholarship assist you in reaching your personal/professional goals and improve your community? Essays must be at least three full pages and between 750-1,000 words. Font size must be 12 and Times New Roman is the preferred font. Margins must be regular.     All applicants must provide three reference letters. Letters may be from school administrators, teachers, civic/business leaders, ministers or neighbors. Reference letters may not be submitted from relatives.
