Background

On Jan. 16, 2017, SVEC launched this web page to keep member-owners informed of our Rockingham Complex project.

The new building – a combined Headquarters and Rockingham District Office – is under construction on the corner of Oakwood Drive and U.S. 11 near Mount Crawford. It will be open to member-owners on Monday, July 16.

SVEC is partnering with Harman ConstructionMather Architects, and Valley Engineering on this project.

Here is a timeline of major construction milestones:

October 9, 2016: SVEC breaks ground on the new facility.

June 22, 2016: The Rockingham County Board of Supervisors approves a special-use permit and rezoning for the project.

April 27, 2016: SVEC announces plans for a new Headquarters and Rockingham District Office, contingent on consideration of all stakeholders.

Feb. 12, 2016: SVEC exercises option to purchase property for new building at 70 Oakwood Drive, north of Mount Crawford.
