Plug-In Solar

In 2026, the Virginia General Assembly approved a new way for residents to access solar, known as plug-in solar. At-home devices that plug into residential outlets can begin to be hooked up on Jan. 1, 2027. The State Corporation Commission is developing a utility notification form that will be required of interested SVEC members before the solar devices can be installed.
