In 2018, Shenandoah Valley Electric Cooperative sponsored an all-expense-paid trip for three current high school juniors to Washington, D.C., to attend the National Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour. This year, the Youth Tour was held from June 10-14, and more than 1,600 students from 44 states attended. Students learned more about their country, American history, Cooperatives, and interacted with their elected officials.
The Youth Tour is five exciting days packed with activities in our Nation’s capital, and a great opportunity for students to see their nation’s capital up close, learn about the political process, and meet peers from across the country.
